Tuition and Fees

Tuition for the MSDS program is equal to the tuition rates for the FSRM program. Information on the costs of graduate study at Rutgers for the current academic year may be found in the New Brunswick Graduate Student Tuition and Fees Schedule (MSDS is on Page 2). When looking at tuition and fees, it would be best to look at the per credit tuition while keeping in mind that the program requires 30 credits to complete. Full-time students typically take 9 or 12 credits per semester and can finish their degree in 3 semesters. The recommended sequence is 9 credits in your first Fall semester, 12 credits in the second semester in the Spring, and 9 credits in the 3rd semester. Multiplying the cost per credit by the number of credits you expect to take will give you a good estimate of your tuition per semester. You will also need to add the per semester student fees to get a more accurate estimate.

There are no scholarships, grants, teaching/research assistantships, or funding available from the program for students in the MS Data Science program. Students are expected to fund entirely the course of study at Rutgers. Those who have a grant or fellowship from an outside or other source are welcome to apply it toward the tuition cost of the program. United States citizens or permanent residents may be eligible to apply for various forms of student aid.

Housing

All students accepted into a full-time master's program are eligible to apply for on-campus housing but many students opt for off-campus housing. Further information about housing options can be obtained from the Housing Office.

International Students

International students have to provide financial documentation that shows proof that admitted students can finance their first year of education and living expenses and provide a plan and sources for funding future years. Please note that financial documentation is only required after you have received an offer of admission.
